Story is great, the gameplay loosely reminds me of Metal Gear Solid series' take on action-stealth, blending both almost flawlessly. One of the best parts of this game is that it feels like there is always something to do. It's extremely easy to get distracted. The city itself is quite small (you can probably grapple around it in around 3 - 5 minutes?) but it is jam packed with things to do. The constantly changing configurations of enemies\/environment make the game feel fresh. The sidequests feel extremely satisfying to complete (with the exception of a sidequest where you have to rescue political prisoners). The main quest is pretty easy, but New Game+ throws a ton of curveballs at you. After you're done with the Story mode, there's Riddler's Revenge, a Challenge Map style mode. The Predator style missions there are absolutely amazing, and earning all the medals is sure to be a blast. I highly recommend this game, to Batman fans and newcomers alike.. Though not as large as Arkham Origins or the follow-up Arkham Knight, Arkham City is full of rooftops and shadowy corners that bear exploring. Light-shafts and shadows are particularly well-rendered, which play to Arkham City’s strengths. Can create some jarring moments when Batman is at a crucial plot point, and the cut-scene switches the story to Catwoman.- Performance on the PC is spotty, even now. Try cranking all the settings up, and the benchmark will run without issue, but the game will be plagued by stutter, both in the pre-rendered cutscenes (a video streaming issue) and in-game as the game-world loads in. I installed Arkham City to my SSD drive, I have a Haswell Core i5, 16GB of ram and an RX 470. My system is not the issue. Search the forums and you’ll find many complaints about cut-scene stutter and generally poor stream-in performance. Turn off DX11 graphical features and most of the problems disappear. Still have some issues with initial load-in stutter, but otherwise the issues were resolved. Maybe you won’t have issues if you’re on Nvidia instead of Radeon, but don’t be surprised if you do.- Frame-rate is capped at 62 by default. Altering a config file reveals the real fps limit to be around 200.Without the technical concerns, Arkham City wouldn’t just be a near-perfect Batman game, but one of the best games ever made. Still, the technical concerns are assuaged by the fact that Arkham City frequently discounts to $5 (or less!) during sales, where it offers incredible value. Heartily recommended.. Totally worth buying! If you're on the fence, jump over, you won't regret it.. This game is an amazing follow up to arkham asylum and improves upon it in every way. More varied boss fights, a longer more interesting story and a much bigger open world style map with plenty of side missions which is something the first game was lacking. The combat is more responsive and has alot more combo moves and takedowns. The movment has been improved and there are alot of new abilities that help you navigate the world. There are also many new gadgets which also add more depth to the gameplay and make it more enjoyable. You can also play as catwoman as a secondary character but she doesn't have many moves or abilities when compared to batman and she feels a bit underused in the story. The biggest problem with the game is the huge number of collectables in the game which are really tedious to collect and are requiered in order to finnish one of the side missions. Dispite the few problems, overall this is an amazing game and probably the best game in the franchise as well as the best superhero game ever made.I definitely recommend it.. A must even if you are not into the Batman franchise. Great story and combat system, combined with an amazing open world experience. Maybe the most badass Batman appearance ever. The only boring parts are with Selina (Catwoman), because it follows its own story and doesnt interfere with Batman until the very end of the game, but at least you've got something to stare at, if you know what I mean. Overall it features one of the best combat systems and it's definitely the best Batman game ever made.. It makes you feel like you're batman. After finding Arkham Asylum somewhat lacklustre I held off buying this for some time, despite the recommendations of friends who had all loved the first game. Eventually I picked it up in a steam sale and was pleasantly surprised. Recommended.
